Medicine Metformin to beat breast cancer

NEW DELHI: According to new study, particularly, a medicine named metformin has been used in the treatment for Type-2 diabetes which beats breast cancer.
The researchers tested clinical results for 1,215 patients who were diagnosed and underwent surgical treatment for breast cancer between 1997 and 2013. Around 97 patients examined reported using metformin before their diagnosis, and some patients reported use of the medicine after diagnosis. According to study results, those patients who used metformin medicine before being diagnosed with breast cancer were more than twice as likely to die than patients who never used the medicine. In the other words, patients who began using metformin medicine after their cancer diagnosis were almost 50 percent more likely to survive than non-users.
