About Us

Established in August 1961, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi known as short name IIT Delhi is a public engineering institution that is situated in Delhi’s Hauz Khas. The technology institute was inaugurated by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Minister of Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs and it was established with aims to impart oriented technical experiences to candidates. The IIT Delhi is affiliated to Delhi University. Recently, IITD has scored 2nd rank in NIRF ranking 2022 announced by the department of HRD India. Education quality is a witness that the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is only Top Engineering College in Delhi NCR.

At present, the college campus has spread out in the area of 320 acres. It is situated among the Sri Aurobindo Marg, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Complex, and the National Council of Educational Research and Training. IIT Delhi offers both the Bachelor of Technology programs and the postgraduate programs.
