New Delhi:-US of America is popularly known for its guns. In other words, we can say that America is popular for its gun. As per government records almost every third household in US carries a gun.
The result is such, that the President Barack Obama has now proposed some executives measures to curb the gun culture.
Here are facts related Gun Culture in US of America that is needed to know:
- Shooting caper are not new in US: Over the past century there has been around 60 murder incidents in US.
- Over the past decade it has been reported that gun ownership is reducing, but still, almost every third household still has a gun.
- Active shooting events have become more common in recent years. Recently, twelve people had died in Auroro, Colo., when a gunman opened fire in a movie theatre; a gunman killed 27 people, including 18 children, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn. And nine were killed recently at an historic African American church in Charleston, S.C.
- The right to hold arms and ordnance by US citizen is reserved by the constitution of the country. Due to the inclusion of this right only, Obama has proposed the current amendment
- There are two conference rooms in US - Liberals and other conservatives. Liberals are usually the ones who support stricter laws to cast out gun culture. Whereas Conservatives people support gun culture.
