Election Commission to review poll forwardness in West Bengal today

Kolkata: For the second phase of polling in West Bengal, a full bench of the Election Commission will come to the city on Thursday. Officials said the EC will also review the deployment of security forces in the state.
Officials said during the visit to the city, the EC bench will review poll preparedness in the state for the second phase of polling in 56 Assembly constituencies on Sunday. Led by Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi, the full bench will meet district and police officials, state Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Gupta as well as leaders of different political parties. Voting in the second phase will be start in six north Bengal districts - Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur and Malda besides Birbhum.
