About Us

Rourkela Institute of Technology properly known as RIT Kalunga is a premier Diploma institute of the western Orissa at the Rourkela's industrial city which is located near the conjunction of river Sankha and Koel of the bordering Orissa and Jharkhand. It is functioning at the site of Kalunga and was established in the year 1984.

The institute was established under the patronage of Rourkela Technical Education Society (RTES) with the aims to provide perfect quality education in the field of the both Technical and management branch on both the national and international standard.  
Since inception, RTI has initiated soon its core three engineering branches in Diploma like Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and later, it also added more engineering branches like Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication.

It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and is affiliated to DTET, New Delhi.

RIT Rourkela is offering Diploma curriculums to its students with view to impart world class education in the field of Diploma and it has also ambition to make enable through its various curriculums that could face the challenge in India and abroad.

Admission procedure

The institute accepts admission on the basis of the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) which is conducted by DTE&T, Govt. of Orissa. After successfully completing or securing the best rank, candidates are determined to admission to the institute.

Eligibility

• Aspirants must have to pass standard 10th from the recognized Board for pursuing  the Diploma Engineering course
• Aspirants who have cleared two years of ITI course can get admission in the second year for Diploma.
• Aspirants who have passed standard 10+2 from the science stream (PCM, PCB) are eligible to get admission in the second year of the Diploma Polytechnic Course.

The minimum age of the student is 14 years while the maximum age is 25 years as of the date of admission to Diploma Courses.

Placement Records

RIT has a placement cell that endeavors consistently to provide more than more placement opportunities, needful assistance, and job information to its students including perfect guidelines which are appropriate for the placement. The institute has made an excellent record in 2018 in respect of job placement. It tie-ups with various recruiters like Tata Motors, Honda,  Bosch, Rockman Industries, Arcelor Mittal, and AGI Glaspac.

According to placement records, various students have joined the reputed company through the collaboration of entrepreneurs and placement cells.
