About Us

Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College known as GSVMMC or GSVM Medical College is a Government Medical College which was established on 24 April 1956 located at Swaroop Nagar Kanpur of the Uttar Pradesh state. The College foundation was laid down by India’s first Honorable president Dr. Rajendra Prasad.  It was named after the demise of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, who was a well-known freedom fighter of India’s Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

GSVMMC is affiliated to the University of Lucknow and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University.  This was the first medical college of Uttar Pradesh state which was founded in independent India.

The department of Diploma in Pharmacy is an integral part of GSVM which is being conducted since 1962. This course is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). GSVM, Kanpur is offering Under Graduate and Post Graduate curriculum to its students.

Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur has offered various curriculums in science, Art and Commerce stream as well as in the field of Management, Engineering, medical and Paramedical including Diploma in Pharmacy.

Admission procedure

At the initial stage, candidates who have interested to do pharmacy course, are mandatory to appear in an Entrance Exam as the college gets merit-based admission which is conducted by Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Lucknow.

Candidates are selected for final admission on the basis of merit/entrance test score.

 Eligibility

Candidates must have to pass a standard 10+2 examination from science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks.
