About Us

Poona College of Pharmacy is a premier and renowned college in the region It was founded in the year 1981 at Rambaug Colony, Erandwane, Pune, Maharashtra by the collaboration of Dr. Patangrao Kadam who was the founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth.  Dr. Patangrao Kadam realized that a training institute has needed in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences for students, so he completely collaborated in the establishment of the college as there was no college in the region.

Poona College of Pharmacy affiliated with the University of Pune is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth and offers Graduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral programs in PharmaceuticalSciences.

The College has been granted approval by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi, and has also been recognized by the University Grants Commission under Sections 2(f) and 12 (B) of its Act. The College and its degrees are also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. The college has been accredited by both the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and The National Assessment and Accreditation Council  ( NAAC) and has got an “A” Grade.

Admission procedure

An examination is conducted for admission to candidates on the basis of the entrance tests for dental, homeopathic, and other medical courses.  Admission to all the medical institutions in India is governed by the Medical Council of India, situated in Delhi.

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed class 12^th with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology with a minimum mark of 50% in their secondary examination for general category candidates while 5% have been exempted belonging to OBC/ ST/ SC category candidates.  The candidate should obtain 50% of the marks together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. 

Placement Records

The placement record of the college is good enough. Various Indian pharmaceutical companies visit consistently at the campus to recruit the students as their employees.

Renowned and prestigious companies like Elli Lilly, Ranbaxy, Wockhardt, Novartis, Aventis, Cipla, Lupin and Natco visit and participate in the campus selection once a year for the recruitment of our students. The placement Cell was set up to provide a perfect guideline and assist to students for placement and training during the vacations.
