About Us

The Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur adequately known as short name IIM-SBP is a government public management institute which was instituted in the year 2015 located at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sason, Sambalpur of the Odisha state under mentorship by Indian Institute of Management, Indore. The institute had begun with the first batch of Post - Graduate Programme on 23 September 2015.

Although,  Ministry of HRD had declared for IIM - SBP establishment in the year 2014 that was registered as a Society on August 19, 2015. 

The Government of India approved the proposal to set up six new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for the first batch across the country in its Budget 2014-15. 

IIM Sambalpur has a temporary campus which is situated at Sambalpur University, Jyotivihar, Sambalpur, Odisha. But, The Government of Odisha has allocated 237 acres of land in Basantpur for its permanent campus.

The academic year commonly begins in either June, July or ends in March/April of the following year.

Admission process

The final selection process of IIM Sambalpur considered through based on Common Admission Test (CAT) score. After the result of the CAT Exam, candidates have mandatory to appear in the Writing Ability Test, Personal Interview including Group Discussion rounds.

Placement Records

The Placement Unit organized by IIM Sambalpur works as a bridge that makes a strong relationship between students and recruiters. The unit cooperates full-fledged to its candidates and also conducts an internship in summer vacation to making enable based on national and international. In last year, the placement unit participated with recruiters from various industries like Tata Trusts, SBI, Infosys, Birla Sun Life, and HDFC Bank those came to campus with the purpose to hire talent students in which several students were selected with an excellent package.
At the present, IIM – SBP has tied up with new recruiters such as JSL, Vedanta, Motilal Oswal, Kia Motors, Deloitte and L&T Infotech etc.
