About Us

Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (Rajasthan) known as the short name (BITS) is a private institute of higher education which was set up by founder Ghanshyam Das Birla in the year 1964 at Pilani, Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan).

In the initial stage, the institute was established as the Birla Education Trust in the year 1929 for the intermediate college which became a degree college and later converted into Birla Institute of Technology & Science in 1964 with offering its flagship programs like postgraduate and undergraduate courses.

The campus of the institute is covered with an area of 990 acres of land and is one of the 6th institutes among the Indian Institutes that was recognized by the Government of India in 2018. BITS, Pilani has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 'A' grade. The institute is also affiliated with ACU, UGC, PCI, and AIU.

Course

BITS Pilani offers B.Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, MBA, Public Health and Business Administration. BITS Pilani offers four-year degree full-time programs in engineering, technology, and pharmacy.

Admission procedure

Admission to BITS has been offered on the basis of the All India Entrance Examination based that depends on the student's performance, the BITS Admission Test (BITSAT). The institute conducts admission through online mode.

After successful completion of entrance exam, Eligible Candidates have mandatory to appear in written ability test and personal interview. The admission will be based on the performance in the qualifying degree, experience, test and interview.

Eligibility

The candidates must have obtained a minimum 60% overall aggregate of marks in the qualifying examination and must have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics / Biology subjects with at least 50% marks in each subject.
