UP First woman IPS officer conquers Antarctica’s highest peak

Uttar Pradesh: According to the official report, The first woman IPS officer named Aparna Kumar of the Uttar Pradesh has successfully climbed Wednesday on the Mount Vinson Massif, the highest peak in the Antarctic sub-continent.
Aparna Kumar climbed the 17,000-feet-high peak of the Mount Vinson Massif on 17 January 2016. IPS officer Kumar also hoisted the Uttar Pradesh Police flag on the mountain peak. She is the first woman officer of any All-India. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has congratulated her for the feat. In 2015, Aparna Kumar became the first lady IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh to have successfully scaled the highest mountain peak of European continent Mount Elbrus. Aparna had earlier successfully scaled Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Aconcagua in South America and hoisted Indian and Uttar Pradesh police’s flag
