Violence erupts in Mathura: know about spiritual Guru Jai Gurudev

MATHURA: The huge scramble between police and aggressor erupted on Thursday night in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh in which more than 22 people of Mathura , including a Superintendent of Police Mukul Dwivedi and SHO Santosh Kumar, have been killed. Violence erupted in Jawar Bagh area when armed devotees of Baba Jai Gurudev pelted stones and fired at police during an anti- aggression operation launched by authorities on a government land to evict a religious group that calls themselves, “Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi. The group follows a local self styled spiritual guru Jai Gurudev, who empire is estimated to be worth over a whopping Rs 12,000 crore. The Godman Jai Gurudev passed away in 2012. His real name was Tulsidas Maharaj and over two years, his protesters reportedly occupied hundreds of acres of land of controversial Jawahar Bagh of Mathura, on the pretext of protests. .” The supporters of a splinter group Swadheen Bharat Andolan, struggled with the police on Thursday, resulting in huge violence which resulted in the death of 21 people. Some 40 others were injured, out of which 23 policemen are admitted in hospital. The police has captured a huge cache of arms from the protesters, including 45 arms of 315 bore, two 12 bore one factory made 315 bore rifle, one 12 bore rifle, four 315 bore. Police had tried to evict the illegal occupants on the direction of the Allahabad High Court, following which the protesters attacked the police force.
