UM Sarbananda Sonowal, 15 injured

Dibrugarh (Assam): Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal including 15 others injuried when the pulp at a BJP Yuva Morcha public meeting, crash in Dibrugarh on Monday. According to senior leader of BJP Ujjal Kashyap, after ending the meeting of BJP Yuva Morcha workers, more than 155 party members collected to meet Sonowal on the pulp designed to hold only 25 persons. As soon as the people got up on the pulp, its wooden planks could not take the weight of the crowd and ditched in the Minister besides two MPs Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Rameswar Teli. The Minister received injuries normally on his back and a squad of doctors reached to him due to treatment and he advised Sonowal to take rest as he did not require hospitalisation, he said. Tasa said he and Teli were, however, not injured in the mishap, while about 15 others were required medical attention.
