TRS's Victory in Greater Hyderabad civic body polls

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Friday won the municipal elections with a massive majority.
Exceeding the exit poll projections, the ruling party in Telangana has won in 99 of the total 150 divisions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the polls for which were held on February 2, 2016.
“The results have enhanced our responsibility towards people who favoured us in the election.
With this victory, I commit myself to turn Hyderabad into a truly global city,” said CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. He also announced one lakh two bedroom houses for the poor in the coming budget and two new hospitals with 1,000 beds.
He also made a promise of uninterrupted power, sufficient water supply and multi-layer flyovers for the IT city.
IT minister KT Rama Rao declared the TRS a “Tiruguleni Rajakiya Shakti”. The victory now in the common capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana indicates that the urbanised, educated voters and the Seemandhra settlers – have finally accepted the TRS.
