SAS Nagar police arrest BSF jawan for assist drug smugglers


The Crime Investigating Agency, SAS Nagar police on Tuesday arrested another BSF Jawan named Prem Singh for assist cross border smuggling of drugs, arms and ammunition.

In the last week, Anil Kumar, a constable of the 52 Battalion, posted near Sriganganagar was arrested by the officers for assisting smugglers. He is under the judicial custody at the present time.

Prem Singh was arrested from his village Tarn Taran while he was on leave. He was posted as a head constable with the 72 Battalian of BSF in Barmer in Rajasthan.

According to Crime Investigating Agency report, Prem Singh used to assist easy movement of drugs and arms through the border for three drug smugglers named Gurjant Singh, Sandeep Singh and Jatinder Singh to supply border smuggling of drugs, arms and ammunition.

The CIA wing of SAS Nagar police had earlier arrested the three accused 26 years old Gurjant Singh alias, 25 years old Bhollu Sandeep Singhresidents of Tarn Taran and 34 years old Jatinder Singh alias Jindi resident of Ludhiana on December 29, 2015 with cache of arms and ammunition smuggled from Pakistan.

The police had also recovered mobile phones and a Pakistan SIM card from their possession.
