NEW DELHI : A solar eclipse will occur across Africa. This is the second solar eclipse in 2016. It is called Annular eclipse which will be visible in parts of Africa on Thursday as the moon falls between the Sun and Earth.
The solar spectacle is called an annular eclipse, and it is also referred as a “ring of fire” eclipse. Because it is not a total solar eclipse, instead the moon will cover only some part of the Sun, therefore a white halo appears from the sun. The greatest eclipse will take place in the Southern Hemisphere portion of Africa. Some countries included are Gabon, the Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar. The next "total" solar eclipse will be coast-to-coast in the United States in August of 2017.
