NEW DELHI: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is ready to launch a new series of Rs 1000 note in market soon. The currency note of Rs 1000 was taken back from market after announcement of demonetisation on November 8, 2016.
According to senior government official statement, the government had already started printing the notes but high demand of Rs 500 notes poked it at the backburner. He said the government was planning to launch it in the month of January.
But, there is no clear date of Rs 1000 currency introducing for circulation, RBI’s initiative would certainly ease the burden to change the higher denomination currency of Rs.2000, which was launched after currency ban.
Although, finance minister Arun Jaitley had declined of any such possibility of re-introduction of Rs 1000 note in the market.
