Railway Recruitment 2018: Indian Railways exam begins for 1 lakh vacancies today

NEW DELHI: Indian Railway Board has conducted Railway Recruitment examination 2018 on August 10, Friday in which at least 47.55 lakh candidates have appeared for 60,000 posts of Assistant Loco Pilots including Technicians. Apart from this post, Railway Board is also conducting the exam for the gangmen, switchmen, trackmen, cabinmen, welders and helpers.
According to Indian Railway, around 3,59,605 candidates have appeared in the exam while in next stage, at least 1.9 crore candidates will appear for 63,000 post. Computer Based Test for the posts of ALP & Technician recruitment examination started on Friday. The Indian Railway is conducting these examination in166 cities of 439 exam centers across India which will be started in 3 shifts per day till 31st August, 2018. Question papers for these exam will be available to candidates in 15 languages. The Indian Railway has provided centres to 83% candidates within 500 kilometers. While, women including Persons with Disability candidates were provided centres within 200 kilometers. With purpose to facility in favor of candidates, the Indian Railway has also arranged 10 exam special trains for candidates from Deoria, Chhapra, Patna, Darbhanga, Muzaffurpur, Ara to destinations like Secunderabad, Bhopal, Indore and NCR which could not be acclimatized within 500 kilometer.
