Tripura: The Tripura police have begun investigation into a fraud Facebook account that opened in the name of Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar. The state police have mentioned a case after a similar incident in 2014. This  is a second time.
The CM has gave his statements clearly with curiously that he does not have any Facebook or email account, official or otherwise; nor has he permitted anyone to create any social media profile in his name. CM Sarkar’s fraud Facebook page has several posts that talk about development work done by the CPI (M) for the landless poor. While the fraud account claims to have 131 “friends”, one particular post titled “Future PM India – Manik Sarkar” attracted 969 ‘Likes’. “The Police’s Cyber Crime Branch is investigating the matter and hope to make a breakthrough soon,” said a senior police official.
