PM Modi celebrates the 86 Dandi March anniversary today

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrates the 86th Dandi March anniversary on Saturday and remembered the satyagrah movement which had been driven by the great soul Mahatma Gandhi’s bold sound for the salt March to protest against the British salt law. The nation also celebrates Dandi March today. "Saluting all people who joined the Dandi March, following Bapu ' s clarion call and inspired by his ideals," Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet. The Prime Minister also tweeted a picture of the Mahatma Gandhi picking up grains of salt at the end of his march in Dandi. Mahatma Gandhi along with 78 satyagrahis set out on foot for the coastal village of Dandi to protest British salt laws on March 01,1930.
