NEW DELHI: Nowadays, many of people are suffering from Sciatica pain across India and abroad. After affecting this pain, male or female are unable to do any work and feel distressed. Sciatica pain begins due to irritation and compression of the sciatic nerve. In the initial stage, it affects by pain in the lower back which further extends to the legs.
Sciatica is not a medical condition in itself; it is symptomatic of an underlying health condition. Pain in the lower back like slow reflexes, weak muscles, and tingling sensations are the major symptoms of sciatica.
If you do not want to go to any doctors or hospital and also want to save time and money, you can get rid of sciatica pain by using home remedies. Some home remedies have been given following which are useful for this pain. You can try it to get rid of the pain.
1. Epsom salt :
A combination of magnesium and sulphate, Epsom salt is easily absorbed by the skin pores. All you need to do is take a warm, soothing bath. Soak yourself in a bathtub, hot water with 2 cups of Epsom salt added to it. Keep your legs and lower back submerged in water for 20 minutes. After doing so at least three times a day, you will feel comfort from pain.
2. Hot and cold compresses :
Hot and cold compresses are a great way to get relief from pain and inflammation caused by this condition. Heat will help by relaxing the tight muscles pushing the sciatic nerve. Cold compress, on the other hand, will help in reducing the swelling and numbing the affected area to reduce pain.
3. Ginger :
Ginger is one home remedy that works wonders for all sciatica sufferers. It is a great way of adding potassium to your diet (potassium deficiencies are known to worsen sciatica pain). You can consume ginger tea, ginger juice or simply chew a few slices of ginger daily to get rid of sciatica pain.
4. Turmeric (Haldi) :
Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties make it a powerful home remedy for reducing sciatica pain. You can prepare a healthy drink by mixing Turmeric (haldi) with a cup of milk and also add a cinnamon stick to it. Drink this once or twice a day, you can feel comfort.
