New Delhi :-Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Thursday that odd-even scheme is scheduled to be implemented again from April 15 for 15 days in Delhi. It is the second phase of odd-even scheme. Women will be exempted.
The decision has been taken on the basis of the feedback of the scheme when it was implemented on January 1-15, Kejriwal said. The Delhi government had carried out a survey which said 81 per cent of Delhiites wanted that the odd-even scheme should be implemented again. However, the two-wheelers will be allowed to ply on the roads during phase two. The decision to allow 30 to 40 lakh two-wheelers during the trial has been to prevent the chaos at buses and Delhi Metro. CM Kejriwal said that other exemptions have not been decided yet. Earlier on Thursday, Kejriwal had said that the experiment will not be made permanent.
