Manipur polls 2017: PM Modi to address election rally in Imphal today

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Saturday will
address to people in an election rally in
Manipur amid strict security.
Tight security has been arranged by Manipur government in the state after bombs were recovered on Friday from Imphal West district, where PM Modi is expected to speak.
The recovery comes even as an apex body of six insurgent groups in Manipur has given a call for a
"completely close the work " in the state tomorrow to protest against Modi ' s visit. They also said that PM Modi was aimed at "hoodwinking the people of Manipur".
A bomb made by Chinese was recovered near the residence gate of Bhartiya Janta Party candidate Soibam Subhas Chandra ' s at NingombamLeikai, while another bomb was found near residence gate of another Bhartiya Janta Party worker O Sunil in Thoubal district, 40 km away from the rally venue.
It is second trip of PM Modi for Imphal. Assembly election in Manipur will be start in two phases on March 4 and 8 with 266 candidates in the contest.
