Live Report: Janata Express Trains Derail in Madhya Pradesh at least 24 Dead and 50 injured

MADHYA PRADESH: At least 31 people have died after eleven bogies of two packed trains derailed near Harda in Madhya Pradesh within minutes of each other late on Tuesday night. Over 300 people have been rescued so far; nearly 71 are injured.

25 trains has been diverted due to Janata Express Trains (13201) Derailed at the same spot.

Seven coaches of Kamayani Express and 3 coaches and the engine of Janata Express were derailed between Khirkiya and Bhirangi stations close to Hardaas the bottom material on the tracks got washed away.

The mishap passed around 11.30 PM on Tuesday as base material of the tracks got washed away in heavy rains.

Meanwhile, rescue operations continued while many passengers were feared at bay in water when coaches of each the train plunged into the watercourse. Kamayani Express enroute to Varanasi from Mumbai derailed close to Harda, concerning a 160 kms from Bhopal, and also the Mumbai-Jabalpur Janata Express derailed around 11.30 late last night.

At least 27 people are died and several other battle-scarred when 2 trains derailed whereas crossing a swollen Machak watercourse close to Harda in Madhya Pradesh while rescue operations continued, officers said nowadays.
