This festival is celebrated every year all over in India on the occasion of God Shri Krishna birthday. Krishna is also lovingly called Govinda, Balgopal, Jagadguru, Manmohan, Murlimanohar, Nand lal, Chitchhor , Kanhaiya, Murlidar among others. As we know that Krishna was born on the eight day of Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapad in the kingdom of Mathura in prison. Today the devotees are worship in Radhey- Krishna temples in different places in India. Especially, this celebration is celebrating in Mathura and vrindavan with loudly crowding. It is story of born Lord krishna in prison. His mother was Devaki and father Basudev. While Devaki was pregnant, her brother Kansa kept them into prison and locked because he knew that her 8th son would kill him after his birth. To safeguard his life, he went on to mercilessly kill all the six children that Devaki had borne. During the birth of Krishna, Vasudeva was guided by the lord to carry the baby to Vrindavan to the house of Nanda and Yasoda, and return with their girl child born on the same day to present her to King Kansa in the hope that he wouldn’t harm her because the prophecy had said that the eight ‘son’ would be the one to kill him. But the merciless Kansa held the child and tried to throw her against a rock when she rose to the air taking the form of Goddess Durga and warning him about his death. So, especially at Mathura -Vrindavan where the lord spent his childhood, birthday (Krishna Janmashtmi) is celebrated with Great Spirit, devotion and pleasure all over India. Celebrations of Krishna birthday takes place at midnight as Krishna god is said to have made his divine appearance in that hour. Krishna janmashtmi celebrations are performed at the all temples of Mathura Vrindavan but at Dwarakadhish temple some special events in the form of Jhulanotsava and ghatas.  Lord Krshna was a naughty in childhood. He was played with Gopian and ate cream. While he became adult, killed Kansa due to his evil works.
