LIVE: CM Akhilesh Yadav meets SP supremo Mulayam amid clash over candidate list

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday met Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav amid reports of a clash between senior Samajwadi party leaders over ticket distribution for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2017.
According to the report, CM Akhilesh is set to pitch for the incorporation of party leaders whose names have been missing from the candidate’s list. Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh yadav had   released the candidates list on  Wednesday. Chief Minister Akhilesh has sacked Vice Chairman of Awas Vikas Parisad Surabhi Shukla. Surabhi’s husband Sandip Shukla is believed to be close of Shivpal Yadav. Sandip has also been given the ticket from Sultanpur. Stung by the decision to drop his close aides from the list of candidates CM Akhilesh has called a meeting of his supporters today at 11 AM. Sources claim that Akhilesh has said that all those who have been denied tickets should continue with preparation to contest.
