Live: A bus falls into Banas river in Rajasthan, PM Modi expresses grief

NEW DELHI: A bus carrying passengers on Saturday early morning fell into a
Banas river from a 100-foot high bridge in
Rajasthan in which more than 31 people were dead while at least 5 passengers were injured which have been taken to the nearest hospital.
The incident took place early morning in Soorwal police station area when the bus was on its way to Lal soth from Sawai Madhopur. The accident occurred due to lost control of the vehicle.
According to report, the bus was being driven by a 16-year-old conductor on the place of the driver who was speeding at the time and then lost control over the vehicle which fell off the bridge near Dubi. Both of them, driver and the conductor of the bus were also killed in the accident.
Passengers were from other states like
Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Assam in which some of them were going to offer prayers at a temple in Malarna Chour in the district, Sawai Madhopur Superintendent of Police Mamman Singh said.
The number of dead may rise, police said.
