LIVE Assembly Election results 2016: counting begins in five states today

The counting of votes in the latest round of assembly polls in five states-Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry assembly election 2016  begins on Thursday at 8 AM in which fate of various candidates will be decided by voters by votes. counting of votes will be over by 3 PM.
  In Assam, the BJP is surging to a historic victory. In Kerala, the Left Democratic Front seemed ready to displace the Congress-led United Democratic Front.  According to report at 9.30 am, the Bhartiya  Janta Party  led in 59 seats in Assam, the Congress in 21 and Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF in 11. The halfway mark is 64 in an assembly of 126. In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress ahead in 154 seats, the Left parties in 37 and the Congress in 30. The BJP led in four seats. The halfway mark is 147 in an assembly of 294. In Kerala, the Left Democratic Front led in 86 seats while the United Democratic Front led in 50. The BJP led in three seats. The halfway mark is 71 in an assembly of 140. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK-Congress alliance led in 79 seats while J Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK led in 98. The halfway mark is 118 in an assembly of 234. In Puducherry, the Congress led in nine, the DMK in five and the AIADMK in three. The assembly strength is 30. DMK president M Karunanidhi has been elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly from Thiruvarur, defeating his nearest AIADMK rival by 68,366 votes, says the Election Commission. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan credits the BJP ' s win in Assam and its inroads in Kerala and West Bengal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah. Former Indian football captain and Trinamool candidate Bhaichung Bhutia was defeated from Siliguri by 14,072 votes. Siliguri Mayor and former CPI-M minister Ashok Bhattacharya won the seat. Congress-DMK combine storms to power in Puducherry, wins simple majority of 17 in the 30-member Assembly. Mamata Banerjee and Jayalalithaa on Thursday stormed back to power in their respective states braving all the odds
