M Karunanidhi passed away at Kauvery Hospital in downtown, People to pay homage


NEW DELHI: Former Chief Minister and DMK president Muthuvel Karunanidhi was born on 3 June 1924 who had broken his last breath at Kauvery Hospital in downtown on August 7, Tuesday at around 6 :10 pm at the age of 94 years due to long term disease. He was suffering from long term illness since 11 days.

So that, a huge numbers of people have been seen in queue to pay last tribute to M Karunanidhi on August 8, Wednesday morning at Rajaji Hall.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami, film star Rajinikanth and his family including others minister has also pay homage to M Karunanidhi. Tamil Nadu CM said expressing to regret that Karunanidhi’s demise is a “big loss to Tamil Nadu”.

Karunanidhi’s body was brought to the Rajaji Hall from his CIT Nagar residence for the public to pay tribute to the former chief minister.

The Indian tricolor was covered over the body of Karunanidhi. His relatives, including children Stalin, MK Selvam and Kanimozhi, were seen standing beside the mortal remains of the leader.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi including others have also to pay homage to great leader today.

Chants could also be heard by AIADMK delegation during the visit and seeking space at the Marina beach for the burial of Karunanidhi .

Although, The AIADMK government had offered to allot space at Sardar Patel Road, near the memorials of former chief ministers C Rajagopalachary and K Kamaraj.

Karunanidhi was an Indian writer and politician who served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for five terms. He was a long-standing leader of the Dravidian movement and ten-time president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) political party.

Before ingress in politics he worked in the Tamil film industry as a screenwriter. He has also contributed to Tamil literature in which several written stories, plays, novels, and a multiple-volume memoir have been including.
