Important to modernize agriculture practices: says PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that it is "important to modernize agriculture practices along with more technology". "Transformation in India will come from the villages, through the farmers," PM Modi said during the inaugurating the ‘Krishi Unnati Mela ' in Delhi on Saturday. The programme of ' Krishi Unnati Mela ' has been set up for three days.
"First green revolution occurred at places with good water supply but second green revolution has to be powered by technology, modernization," the PM said. The PM said while first green revolution was centred across the western and northern parts of the country, while the second green revolution has to come from the eastern India. He said there is need to increase the purchasing power of people in villages, for which we need to increase economic activities in rural areas.
