IMO 2018: Indian students get 3 silver, 2 bronze medals in Cluj Napoca

NEW DELHI: Indian students like Pranjal Srivastava, Pulkit Sinha and Anant Mudgal have acquired silver medals in 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) while Spandan Ghosh and Sutanay Bhattacharya won bronze medals.  Student Amit Kumar Mallik received Honourable mention in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2018.
The 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) was started in Cluj Napoca, Romania on July 4, 2018 which was ended on July 14, 2018. 14-years -old Pranjal Srivastava which is the first and youngest Indian student, got a silver medal in IMO 2018 to qualifying for the IMO before entering 9th class in school. He first appeared for the Regional Mathematical Olympiad in 2017 that was started in the month of December 2017. During the RMO appearing , he was studying in class 8th. The Indian National Mathematical Olympiad 2018 was started in the month of January 2018. He secured 101 out of 102 in RMO 2017 and 63 out of 102 in INMO 2018. The team was collaborated by Professor Venkatachala Belur Jana and Prashant Sohani, Pune including observers like Professor Vinod Kumar Grover, Chandigarh and Pranav Nuti, Hyderabad.
