Girl burnt to death last evening outside her village in UP's Unnao

NEW DELHI: The Unnao villagers of the Uttar Pradesh state shocked to hear a huge horror incident while a minor girl was burned to death outside of her village on February 22 (Wednesday) evening. The burned body of the minor was recovered from Lucknow which is 100 kms far from her village in Unnao district. After sometimes, she was carried from there to her house on her bicycle for the weekly market in the area. The 18-year-old girl was attacked by the unidentified person who had used petrol to burn her.
Although, almost maximum parts of her body was burn injuries which were recovered by the side of a field outside her village.Her cycle was lying next to her. According to Uttar Pradesh police, the girl was burnt alive where a bundle of matchsticks were also found on the spot. They have registered a case of murder and any sexual assault will be confirmed in the post-mortem report, a senior officer said. “She had gone to market at around 4:30 pm for purchasing vegetables. After some moments, her burnt body was recovered in the village. The news of her death spread in the village and her family rushed to the incident spot where she identified her bicycle and slippers," said a senior police officer. Sujit Pandey who is Inspector General of Police (IGP), Lucknow, said, "It appears to be a murder. We have recovered the body, her dupatta, slippers and a bicycle. Investigations are continuing."
