The Enforcement Directorate has begun a probe into allegations that the Emaar MGF Group had appointed European middle person Guido Haschke, who is a guilty in the AgustaWestland helicopter fraud in 2009 for over two months.
The group is a joint venture between Emaar Properties PJSC, Dubai and MGF Developments Ltd. The company explained in a statement that while Hashke was an independent non-executive director for a period from September 25, 2009, to December 7, 2009, Emaar MGF had no other association with him or any of his businesses. “It would be appreciated if Emaar MGF is not featured in the stories involving Mr Guido R Hashke and Mr Kanishka Singh, since we are in no way connected to them or any of their businesses/activities. Such reportage presents an incorrect and misleading image of our company,” the statement said.
