NEW DELHI: On Saturday, India is celebrating the 85th birth anniversary of India ' s popular President including Missile expert Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He became the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
A career scientist APJ Kalam turned politician, was born October 15,1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, where he got education as  physics and aerospace engineering. He passed away on July 27,2015in shillong. He was received various awards such as Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan. Before getting the position/ designation of nation ' s sovereign, he was an aeronautical engineer with DRDO and ISRO. He played a prominent role in India’s Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. He is known as the best and popular president across the India due to his the best performance for the people and the country nowadays. People are remembering him as a champion of the poor. He assisted to poor including down trodden in society.   • Dr. Kalam awarded as Bharat Ratna in 1997. Along with Dr. Zakir Husain and Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, he is the third president of India to have received the award.
  •  APJ Abdul Kalam is popularly known as the People ' s President and was elected as India ' s 11th President from 2002 to 2007.
