A dentist beaten to death with iron rods in Vikashpuri, Delhi road

DELHI:- According to the report, a 40-year-old dentist named Dr Pankaj Narang was beaten to death by a mob along with around four youths at Vikashpuri area in west Delhi on Thursday late night about 12 pm. Delhi Police grasped eight of around fifteen people who had allegedly attacked the deceased over a debate on the road. The incident occurred on Thursday at late night while the victim was taking a walk outside his house. A two bike riders brushed past Narang, leading to a scuffle, with the two returning to the spot with around 15 people who attacked Narang. They also allegedly beat up those who came to Narang’s rescue. People of Vikashpuri called police at around 12 midnight, but the accused  fled before they arrived. Narang, who sustained a deep wound to his skull, was sent to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. “Police zeroed in on the accused, all of whom were found to be locals. By this morning, we had apprehended eight of them. Efforts are on to nab the others,” DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar said, adding a case has been registered with charges of murder, attempt to murder, trespassing and rioting. One of the two prime accused is a juvenile. The second person has been identified as one Naseer. Apart from the four juveniles, police identified three majors -- Deepak and two others, both named Amir. Some locals told police that the scuffle happened after the doctor’s son, who was playing outside the house, accidentally hit an accused with a ball. The doctor was attacked when he came to his son’s rescue. DCP Kumar, however, refuted the claims.
