Connect your mobile number to Aadhaar through OTP, IVRS from December 1

NEW DELHI : Nowadays, it is mandatory to connect
Aadhaar number to
mobile phone. Although, Mobile phone users will no longer need to visit any shop of telecom operators for re-verification of any
SIM cards issued on the basis of Aadhaar.
The telecom operators presented model that suggested alternatives such as onetime password (OTP) for Aadhaar-based
SIM re-verification. This process has been approved by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which will be effective from December 1, 2017.
The Telecom Department had last month allowed telcos to re-verify mobile phone numbers. Mobile phone numbers can be re-verify by three methods :
1. OTP through SMS
2. interactive voice response system (IVRS)
3. Telcos’ mobile apps
“This will help people verify their mobile number with Aadhaar without going to a telecom shop, provided their mobile number is already added to database", UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey.
