BJP President Amit Shah cancels BJP’s election campaign in Bengal

BJP President Amit Shah has canceled election campaign for next year’s assembly polls in West Bengal after defeat by Mahagathbandhan with a large difference seats in Bihar assembly election in the previous month.
Amit Shah will now address public meetings in West Bengal late in December while Prime Minister Narendra Modi including other Bharatiya Janata Party stalwarts will hit the state in January. According to BJP’s national leadership, the decision to cancel the BJP’s election campaign in Bengal was made before the Bihar poll results. The BJP also expects to buy more time before hitting “poll mode” in the state, the sources said. “The decision to postpone our national president’s public meeting at Maidan was taken on November 6. The state leadership appeared the meeting in Delhi much before the Bihar poll results came in.
