Bihar bypoll results 2018: RJD wins Jehanabad assembly seat

NEW DELHI: Bypoll results 2018 for Bihar’s jehanabad assembly seat declared today in which Kumar Krishna Mohan who was contesting from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket after the death of his father MLA Mundrika Yadav has won the Jehanabad assembly seat. The results for the two other seats, Araria Lok Sabha and Bhabua assembly seats are still awaited.
In Bihar, the ruling JD(U)-BJP ally and the opposition RJD-Congress alliance were contesting in Araria Lok seat and the two Assembly constituencies. This was the first electoral battle in the Bihar state since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who also heads the JD(U), separated with the RJD and the Congress and joined the BJP-led NDA last year. On the other hand, the BJP was hopeful of retaining the Bhabua Assembly seat riding on a sympathy wave for Anand Bhushan Pandey who  was dead at the age of 48 year .  Pandey ' s wife Rinky Rani was contesting as a  candidate of saffron party.
