Bihar election poll 2015 for fourth phase begins today in seven districts


Patna: Bihar Assembly election poll for fourth phase begins today in seven districts in Bihar at 7 am amid high security for 55 seats in 7 districts.
BJP fielded its nominees in 42 seats in this phase, LJP in 5 and Hindustanti Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party in 4 seats each.

Total number of voters is 1, 46, 93,294 who will cast their vote on 14,139 polling stations today. Total gents candidates are 776 while 57 candidates are women.

The fourth phase election begins in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Gopalgunj and Siwan districts today.

Polling recorded as
3:00 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacks on Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar, saying ‘jungle raj’ now has a twin brother in ‘Jantar Mantar’ .

2:54 pm: 48.37% polling recorded till 2 p.m.

12:30 pm: 35.68 per cent polling recorded till 12 noon.

Pashchim champaran: 40.03%; Purbi champaran: 37.84%; Sheohar:32.09%; Sitamarhi: 31.33%; Muzaffarpur: 36.97%; Gopalganj: 35.58%;Siwan: 31.24%

11:00 am: As per hourly EC bulletin, East Champaran recorded 10.09 per cent, West Champaran 13.61 per cent, Sheohar 13.20 per cent, Sitamarhi 9.84 per cent, Muzaffarpur 13.43 per cent, Gopalganj 14.27 per cent and Siwan 10.87 per cent.

10:58 am: 12 % voter’s turnout in first two hours of voting.

Altogether 1163 companies of Central Paramilitary Force and state police will be posted to ensure free and fair elections.
A total of 38 motor boats will be pressed into services for riverine patrolling tomorrow.

The fifth and last phase of polling will be held on November 5 on the remaining 57 seats.
Counting of votes will be held on November 8, 2015.

Candidates whose fate would be decided in this phase are senior minister Ramai Ram (Bochaha, SC seat), Ranju Geeta (Bajpatti) and Manoj Kushwaha (Kudni).
