Army opens fire in Kashmir, one killed, 3 injured


J&K:- According to police report, a man killed and at least three others people were injured on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district when the Army opened fire on people protesting the deaths of four civilians earlier this week.

19-years-old Arif, resident of Awura village, succumbed to his injuries in the district hospital, an official said. He was injured after people who were pelting stones at a camp of the 47 Rashtriya Rifles regiment in Natnusa village were fired upon.

Authorities refrained internet and enhanced security restrictions in Kashmir after the deaths of two men in Army firing in Handwara town on Tuesday. A 50-year-old woman who was wounded in firing succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
Another youth was killed during protests against the deaths in the district when he was attacked by a teargas shell on Wednesday.

Handwara and Kupwara towns were put under curfew and parts of Srinagar restricted on Friday as authorities tried to tackle protests against the deaths.
