WB state departments performance really well: CM Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata :-West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Saturday asked district magistrates to assure that development work doesn’t get refrained after the Assembly polls are announced .
“The elections may be declared in March or February. But after declaration of election no work should be refrained. The administration and the DMs have to do election-related work but development work should also continue,” Banerjee said reporters after an administrative meeting at the Town Hall here. After calculating the performances of the departments under her administration, the chief minister Banerjee said a lot of departments have done so well that their performance has been over 100 per cent. Land and land reform department’s performance was 103 per cent, commerce and industries 114 per cent, higher education 116 per cent, environment 107 per cent, health and family welfare 119 per cent, women and child development 121 per cent, agriculture 123 per cent, etc, she said. “Money used to lie unspent. I am delighted and proud that everyone is working well,” she said. Pointing out at the shortage of funds, the chief minister said the Centre has deducted more than Rs 1 lakh crore from the state government. “From the Centre we have not got funds worth Rs 10,000 crore. A lot of schemes have been closed. We have augmented the budget and given Rs 14,000 crore to complete the uncompleted work.
