Violence in Assam: Four districts are under curfew

Songbijit faction of National Democratic Front of Boroland reached Assam between 76and attacked on toll and death on Wednesday. A day after the NDFB attacks at Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts, the Army and security forces stepped up counter against the militants. Assam Police’s failure to prevent the killings despite major determination date, time and location of the attacks. Mostly 5,000 adivasis and Bodos left their homes and took shelter in schools and churches in Sonitpur. Agriculture minister Nilamani Sen Deka, in Kokrajhar to visit relief situation and said there were more than 3,000 inmates from both the communities in six relief camps in the district. Union Minister Raj Nath singh said that The National Investigation Agency will probe Tuesday ' s killings after ending meeting to discussion with Assam chief Minister Terun Gogoi. Presently four districts are under curfew.
