New Delhi: Japanese telecommunication major SoftBank ' s Chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son meets to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and denoted interest in investing in India ' s renewable energy sector. prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was accompanied by chairman of Bharti Enterprises Sunil Bharti Mittal and senior MD of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation Tadashi Maeda. "They expressed to invest in the renewable energy sector in India like ' Make in India ' initiative". Energy hungry India is keen to develop its renewable energy sector. The government had raised the solar power generation capacity addition target by five times to 1,00,000 MW by 2022, which will entail an investment of around Rs 6 lakh crore in last week. Haryana government hopped that India will become one of the world ' s largest green energy producers, surpassing several developed countries in next target. The visit of the SofBank ' s Chairman comes just days after the telecom major elevated India-born Nikesh Arora as its President.
