PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate World Food India today

NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate World Food India programme in New Delhi on November 3, Friday. The event will be start from November 3 to 5,2017 in New Delhi. Khichdi, full of dish has been prepared for promoting as a ‘brand India food’ during the World Food India 2017.At least 40 countries including 27 states governments are taking part in the event, being organised in association with industry body CII.
Before its, addressing a event, Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said private investments cost of Rs 65,000 crore have already been committed in the food processing sector and more is expected during the event. Badal has said that Khichdi is the best of all foods and its importance are more than all foods. Khichdi will also be distributed to 60,000 orphan children in national capital. Union minister Smriti Zubin Irani said on Thursday that the mega global food festival was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ' s vision of "transforming" food economy and doubling farmers ' income. The information and broadcasting minister said the World Food India, 2017, will improve business opportunities for women entrepreneurs, among others, and establish India as a preferred destination in food processing sector.
