Navratri Festival: Goddess Skandamata worshipped by devotees in India today

NEW Delhi : On The fifth day of Navratri/ Navdurga, the fifth form of Durga,
Goddess Skandamata is being worshipped on September 25 (Monday) by all devotees all over in India.
Before Devi Skandamata worship, Maa Shailaputri, Maa Brahmacharini, Goddess Chandraghanta and Devi Kushmanda were worshipped and offered prayer by devotees.
She is the mother of
Lord Kartikeya who is also called Skanda and her name comes from him. Devi Skandamata favourite flower is red color flowers.
Maa Durga was born to defeat the demon
Mahishasura. So, once Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati combined to incarnate as Goddess Durga with ten-armed who also received gifts and boons from the other gods to defeat demon Mahishasur.
All Gods have presented somewhat arms to Devi Skandamata to defeat Mahishasura like God
Indra ceded her his vajra, Lord
Varuna presented her his conch, Lord
Agni gave her a missile or spear, Lord
Vayu imparted her a bow and arrows, Lord
Vishwakarma prsented her his axe and an armour, while the lord of the
mountains gave her a lion.
Thus Goddess Skandamata has defeated Mahisasura by the collaboration of Mata Saraswati, Mata Laxami and Devi Parvati.
