Live: TN Chief Minister Jayalalithaa suffers critical condition after cardiac arrest at Apollo hospital

NEW DELHI: 68-years-old Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. According to AIADMK statement, she will return home "soon" as an AIIMS expert team had confirmed that she had completely recovered after over two months of hospitalization.
The Apollo Hospital  Chennai, where Jayalalithaa is being treated, said in a press release that after suffering the cardiac arrest, she was in a critical condition. Jayalalithaa has been in hospital since September 22 when her condition deteriorated suddenly. Jayalalithaa is presently on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists. Latest Updates: Union health minister JP Nadda confirmed that Apollo Hospital has requested for a team of doctors which will be sent from AIMS to Chennai soon. Heavy security has been deployed outside the hospital where Jayalalithaa is admitted as the number of her supporters has only increased post midnight. According to report, Tamil Nadi DGP has instructed all police officers, personnel to report for duty by 7AM on Monday in view of Jayalalithaa suffering cardiac arrest. Tamil Nadu ministers are said to be present inside Apollo Hospital in Chennai. A large numbers of her supporters including TN Ministers are also praying to God for TN CM’s long life .
