LIVE: HD Kumaraswamy to take oath as Karnataka Chief Minister today

NEW DELHI: Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader HD Kumaraswamy will be the second Chief Minister of southern state which swearing ceremony is going to held on May 23 (Wednesday) in front of the Karnataka Vidhan Soudha where he will take oath in the presence of Governor Vajubhai Vala and other Chief Minister of several states except BJP ruling states.
Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) BS Yeddyurappa, who had resigned from the CM post because he could not prove the party’s majority. In the swearing ceremony west Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi took part in ceremony LIVE Updates:
  • CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav also came to Bengaluru to attend in Kumaraswamy’s oath ceremony.
  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu arrive in Bengaluru to attend the oath taking ceremony of Kumaraswamy.
  • Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, are likely to attend the ceremony.
  • Congress Leader G Parameshwara will take oath as Kumaraswamy’s deputy of new Karnataka cabinet. KR Ramesh Kumar will be the Speaker of the 225-memebr Karnataka Assembly.
