Kapu community pre-planned for violence in Hyderabad: Andhra Police

Hyderabad :-Around 15 policemen including a senior officer were injured on Monday when a provocation by Kapu community members demanding reservation under Backward Class category turn violent as the agitators went on riot.

State Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) R P Thakur told PTI: “They have set on fire four bogies of the train, besides damaging some police vehicles and torching two. Our people are trying to control the situation. Additional forces have been rushed to the spot.” According to a senior police officer from East Godavari district, the situation was under control and peaceful.. South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta tonight held a disaster control meeting with the higher officials in Hyderabad. Additional RPF personnel have been deployed to provide security to railway passengers.
