As soon Indian Navy will have another Nuclear Submarine

The Indian Government has decided to lease a second Nuclear Submarine from Russia. Currently, India has 8,140-tonnes Akula Class submarine.  Akula Class Submarine renamed the INS Chakra.The INS Chakra was leased in 2011 from Russia for a time period of 10 years, at a cost USD 970 millions. The Second leased submarine will be of same class and it is also expected to come with same conditions. The decision to lease a 2nd submarine has to be taken on two basis :- Coming up with three more Nuclear Submarine, The Indian Navy needs to train Man Power. The leased submarine will pitch in to bridge the capability gap, with the Indian submarine fleet depleted. Indian have 13 conventional submarines and 1 nuclear submarine, out of o protect its maritime interests, India has to needs a minimum 24 submarines. Indian also plan to buy an additional Scorpene-class submarines from France which were also turned down by the current government. The Indian Navy have been asked to identify an Indian Ship yard which can be build submarines after acquiring technology from a foreign partner.
