IFS Pavan Kapoor appointments India’s new ambassador to Israel

Pavan Kapoor, Indian Foreign Service office a batch of 1990 was appointed on Thursday as India’s new and next ambassador to Israel. Kapoor will replace Jaideep Sarkar.
The appointment assumes significance as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit India this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also eager to visit Israel following Netanyahu’s visit.
Kapoor has served in different capacities in the Indian Missions in Moscow, Kyiv, London and Geneva apart from serving in the MEA department and the Prime Minister’s Office during his diplomatic career.
He has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and a Masters in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics.
He has also done a stint at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London as Political Adviser for Asia and Europe.
