Hunger strike: Rahul joins hunger strike in Hyderabad today, V-C on leave

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi appeared in protesting students at the University of Hyderabad today, the vice-chancellor went on leave overnight in a new twist to the controversy over the suicide by a Dalit scholar Rohith Vermula.
According to the report, The Congress leader joined a hunger strike on Saturday morning.
“Students have been gathered at the University of Hyderabad in large numbers for mass hunger strike. Rahul Gandhi will also sit in the dharna.
This hunger strike will be held in all universities of the country,” National Students Union of India national president Roji M John told reporters on Friday at night.
It was the second visit to the university of Congress leader the death of research scholar Vemula, which has sparked anger across the country over the alleged caste bias prevalent on campuses.
Prior to the arrival of Gandhi, the university announced that Vipin Srivastava who took charge as the interim vice-chancellor has proceeded on leave from Friday afternoon.
